Peder Bundgaard

Mohammed by Peder Bundgaard

Peder Bundgaard likes to use the broad ink-brush. As his drawing shows, Bundgaard usually works with design and poster-art. Is this drawing insulting? Only because it was made by an unclean Infidel.

Poul Erik Poulsen

Muhammed by Poul Erik Poulsen

Poul Erik Poulsen has combined Jesus' halo with the crescent moon. Jesus is considered one of the great prophets within Islam and appears several times in the al-Quran under the name Isa.

Some people - who want to be insulted - may claim that the two tips of the crescent moon resemble horns. I honestly don't believe this was Poulsen's intention. Horns are not yellow and shining, and horns are not located 10 centimeters over the back of the head.

In my opinion Poul Erik Poulsen has simply tried to emphasize the similarities between the two "great" religions.

Comments:
u r all such a son of a bitch to make that trhe freedom of journalism should be so seperated from the freedom and trhe respect of religions

I support Denmark and am off to buy some Carlsberg right now.

The really sad part is that those who post here, are those who have access to the Internet, can afford a computer and know some English. Thus they represent the intelligentsia of the Muslim world.

well i'm MUSLIM and proud for starters....! i notice that you guyz too remain anonymous by using nicknames not real names.... don't use minor details and turn them off against us... you make a mistake.. accepts it... apologize... and move ON! and ateist... the intelligence of the muslim word is beyond your sight... because you make superficial judges based on 2,3 exceptions... do your homework.. then make statements... !

My name is Lara Al-Nimer... i wrote the above statement... and i'm DEFINATELY not scared to admit who i am and stand up 4 what i believe in..

> the intelligence of the muslim word is beyond your sight... because you make superficial judges based on 2,3 exceptions... do your homework.. then make statements... !

Lara, last night in Damascus the embassies of Norway, Denmark and Chile were burned down because of *rumours* that Qurans were going be burned in Copenhagen.

There was no Quran-burning - it was just another lie of the Imams.
The Danish police was tready to stop anybody *if* they had tried to burn any Qurans. So apparently the Danish police did a better job than the police in Damascus.

Did you know, that according to Danish law it's illegal to burn a foreign flag? That's right, we Danes are allowed to burn our own flags, but if we try to burn your flag, the police will stop us. Can you say the same for your country?

> My name is Lara Al-Nimer... i wrote the above statement... and i'm DEFINATELY not scared to admit who i am and stand up 4 what i believe in..

That's easy to do, Lara, as long as you "stand up for" the same thing the violent thugs stand up for.

But if you try to criticize Islam in Europe you risk becoming another Theo van Gogh.

Please read this (it's a bit long): Is Islam Above Criticism?

as a muslim i belive it is wrong and respect is more important than freedom .

> sami i want the danish ppl to talk tell us what you think is it right ?

I'll copy what I wrote elsewhere:

First of all: The twelve drawings were published in a small Danish paper 4 months ago. It has never been intended for the 1,3 billion Muslims worldwide. Unfortunately some double-faced imams chose to take the discussion outside the Danish borders.

Without these imams, the whole thing would have been a local phenomenon and have been forgotten 4 months ago. If you have seen the cartoons and have been offended, then don't blame me, don't blame JyllandsPosten, but blame the imams who made the matter a global one.

The drawings are very mild - compared to what is being done regularly to our Prime Minister (often drawn as a caveman), our Queen (portrayed by several male actors) and indeed every famous or in-famous person or icon in the Western world. Make no mistake though - there are limits - for instance we have blasphemy and racism laws in Denmark.

A Danish author wanted to write a book about Mohammed - as he has already done with several other historical persons - and he found that he was unable to find an artist. Muslims have a reputation for extreme violence - I need only mention the case of Theo van Gogh - and the reactions to the 12 innocent drawings show that these fears were far from unfounded.

The paper JyllandsPosten asked 40 artists to give each their own interpretation of Mohammed. Twelve of these artist replied with a drawing and JyllandsPosten printed them - along with an explanation, that you can't have a democratic society, where one community demands special treatment from everybody else.

Try to visit their home page yourself. They have explained the situation over and over again, in English and Arabic: www.jp.dk/meninger/ncartikel:aid=3527646.

> sami as a muslim i belive it is wrong and respect is more important than freedom .

It is important with mutual respect. But like I said these 12 pictures are harmless compared to what happen to all other religions - and they are kid stuff compared to drawings of Jews in Arabian newspapers.

1 hour ago I saw a famous Danish actor on television performing his favourite act: As Queen Margrethe II.
The really astounding part is that he and the Queen are friends - and he is invited to her parties.

But all this doesn't mean we Danes don't respect out Queen. It just means that we do things differently in our country from what you do in your country.

That's why the imams made a serious mistake when they brought the 12 Danish cartoon (and three false cartoon they made themselves) to your country.

Have you seen all the 12 genuine drawings? (Click the name-links in the top right corner): Notice how different they are? Half of them doesn't even show Mohammed. This should tell you that it's not a campaign against Muslims - but simply 12 different artists who each give a comment on Muhammed to other Danish people.

Why do you demand of non-Muslims that we should follow Muslim laws?

Hey firdaus,
dont check OUR patience you moronic suicide bomber!
Trust ME!
You should know by now how violent my people can be. Me and my brothers have been sending you guys to allah in massive numbers for years now and have become experts at it. My brothers are the infantry of the UNITED STATES Army and Marine Corp. You guys dont have the intelligence to wipe us off the planet. Just look how close minded and stupid you guys are, rioting over a stupid cartoon. We allow you to pitch your stupid fits and when we get sick of it, we bomb you back to the stone age or slice up your filthy hovels with 7.62 automatic fire.
So go ahead. Stand up for your religeon.
Makes it all that easier to watch your body disappear in our thermal sights in a cloud of pink mist when my 25 mm high explosive round hits you center mass.
Pigs blood to you and yours, asshole.

Zein, member of the communist party of lebanon:
The problem isnt the cartoons itself, the problem is the disrespect of people's beleives. Corrupcy and free of press might not something of a significant importance to most of the people living in the third world, and its a benifit for you people living in europe and america to take advantage of these people and suck their blood and economies, but these people do care for their beleives. If you people take a look at what you are writing against muslim people, you will notice harted and disrespect along with each letter written, this is too far away from the culture being promoted these days. I hope we all understand one day that God, if exists and wants good for humanity, have created religions to help people in their communities and not to create communities to fight with each other over heaven!!!!

> Zein The problem isnt the cartoons itself, the problem is the disrespect of people's beleives. Corrupcy and free of press might not something of a significant importance to most of the people living in the third world,

But you can't really blame the Danes for that.
The 12 cartoons were published in a small far-away country 4 months ago - and if the lying imams had not chosen to "internationalize the issue", nobody - including me - would ever have seen them.

If you have seen the cartoons - and if you feel offended, then blame the imams who reproduced them and pushed them into the face of every Muslim in the Middle East.

We are "kuffars" so we don't have to follow Muslim law in our country. The imams broke the Muslim law by introducing Kuffar material in the Muslim word - and by adding their own blasphemous pictures which have never appeared in any Danish newspaper.

I am a Muslim woman &so proud of that. I am a tourism guide. In my country we respect foreigners, we welcome their stay at our home .If they ever had problems we do our best 2make them get red of it. We do all we can 2make them come back. We always meet them with smile. What about u? Do u have that in your countries. I really doubt it.
In our country we can criticize our Minister &president, but we will never insulting them. We do have democracy in our countries but we also have our mind 2think; the thing you don’t. When u found us get mad of these drawings did u ever think you need to reed more about that man who made us all try 2defend him after all that years. why we can sacrify our soul to potect his name. Did u think 2reed Quraan to know why we believe in &how god describes our prophet so we feel so jealous on him? We respect the others &in return others have to respect us.
May I make a mistake that annoy someone, but once I find him is so annoyed I must apologize because I caused him sadness, at least if I care for him. Our prophet is a symbol of so many meanings &values for us. You didn’t know him so how u can judge him we respect all religions &we believe in all past prophets. I think u can enjoy the democracy whatever you want but don’t annoy us.
The Problem is You are considering it matter of democracy. What about 3 billion Muslims’ feelings?????. It is matter of HONOR for us. I am quite sure if any Muslim insulted u Danish people, you will not accept. If u consider those drawings a matter of freedom, then we also free 2express our refusing. If someone published drawing concerning your sister, mother or wife as a fucker how then u feel? What will your reaction be?

To the Danish people

The religion of Islam respects freedoms far more than any laws and other religions. Prophet Mohammed , peace be upon him (PBUH), has taught us respect of others' freedoms and rights, principles of sound negotiation, exchange of views, and using the right evidence and proof. One of the essential basics of freedom is respecting human rights. Therefore, it comes as totally strange that the Government of Denmark, while claiming respect for human rights and freedoms, does permit the publication of such lies and distortions about Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).

How could respect for human rights allow aggression by one person against another, their parents and relatives by means of swearing and insult? Even greater would be attacking and insulting someone's prophet and religious beliefs. Islam totally rejects attacking the Prophets. Muslims deeply genuinely keep away from any sort of insult or attack mounted against the Prophets of all heavenly religions whom they believe in and revere. However, it is very humiliating to see such claims falsely made around the character of the most honorable of human beings; the one that was sent as a mercy to the world and final messenger to humanity: Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him). Blocking ears and closing eyes to such claims and insult to the Prophet of Islam is the gravest aggression against human rights. Moreover, it is a catalyst to sectarian conflicts and hatred among peoples of the world; besides sowing seeds of terrorism. If the Denmark government rejects these things, it should prohibit and fight such acts of insult and aggression against the Prophet of Islam rather than consider them part of the freedom of _expression. Freedom never means breaching the rights of others. Planting hatred and enmity with Islam and Muslims is far from sound thinking and behaving on the part of any government that claims to uphold justice.

The insistence of your government to violate the rights of all Moslems will prompt us to boycott all Danish products in our countries and we will call every Moslem to take similar action. in behalf of so many muslims

> does permit the publication of such lies and distortions about Prophet Mohammed

Do you mind telling us what "lies and distortions" you refer to?

The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs are trying to dispel some of the lies spread by the imams here: http://www.drawings.um.dk/en

We used to consider Denmark to be one of the most peaceful nations in the world, and one of the countries that respects all religions.

But what was published in Jyllands-Posten on 30-9-2005 is not acceptable by any Muslim and has no relation with freedom of opinion or speech. It only serves to promote hatred and bad relations with the Islamic World.

This magazine should publish an article apologizing to Muslims for what was written in order for Denmark to remain a country of liberty and tolerance.

Written in the name of Muslims all over the world.

To ALL Muslims
قال تعالى : ( ولا تسبوا الذين يدعون من دون الله فيسبوا الله عدوا بغير علم ) .
this is phrase from our Quraan to all angry Muslim

But what was published in Jyllands-Posten on 30-9-2005 is not acceptable by any Muslim....

Why do twelve innocuous cartoons in a Jutlandic newspaper (circulation: 157,000) have to "acceptable to the Islamic world"?

You don't ask me for permission for everything you do - do you? Had you ever heard of Jutland, before the imams "internationalized the issue"

Have you seen the fake Mohammed cartoons produced by the imams? Are they acceptable to Muslims? If not - why don't you burn a few mosques and leave our embassies alone?

This magazine should publish an article apologizing to Muslims for what was written in order for Denmark to remain a country of liberty and tolerance.

The paper has done nothing but explaining and apologizing for the last 4 months. Why don't you go to their home page and look for yourself: www.jp.dk

Now, will you peace-loving Muslims please stop burning our embassies?

Written in the name of Muslims all over the world.

Wow! "Written in the name of Muslims all over the world" by "Anonymous".

- quote "You don't ask me for permission for everything you do - do you?"

Well, if the something i have to do includes making fun of your religion or your belief I definately HAVE to ask your permission, or furthermore i won't do it! Can you say the same about yourself??

-quote "Do you mind telling us what "lies and distortions" you refer to?"

The lies we are refering to are the drawings that suggest that our religion calls for terrorisim ( the cartoon of our prophet with a bomb on his head) for starters. The distortion that our religion rewards suicide bombers with virgins in heaven ( the cartoon that says stop stop we ran out of virgins). These might appeal to your sense of humor but they carry many distortions and lies. Do you see where i'm coming from??

**** as for the pictures you say are produced by the imams, well they didn't add to our anger or fuel it. The cartoons are enough, they hurt us because we suffer from prejudic enough in the western world. This was the last straw. We need the whole world to see we are not as the media paints us to be. (The burning of the embassies and killing happened in only 2 countries, what about the rest of us?? you can't judge based on these 2 only.) And if you guyz in denmark manage to PROVE that the imams lied and reproduced these pictures, believe me the islamic anger will turn against them.

- As a closing statement i would like to say that i presonally love denmark. I went there once as teenager on an exchange camp (CISV) and we had the most fabulous time with the host family there. The impression i got that people are friendly, open and welcoming. So that last thing i want to see is that the relationships between our countries ruined! Let's both be open minded and put ourselves in the other person's shoes.

thanks!

> =) Well, if the something i have to do includes making fun of your religion or your belief I definately HAVE to ask your permission, or furthermore i won't do it!

Do you mean "you" as you personally? Or as Muslim media?

Are you telling me that Al Ahram asked for permission from 10,000,000 Jews before they published this cartoon of cannibalistic Jews drinking blood from babies? Al Ahram, 21 April 2001

> =) These might appeal to your sense of humor but they carry many distortions and lies.

Of course - they are only cartoons. Cartoonists use free speech to raise a few points - and you to use your free speech to debate these points. That's how progress is made.

> =) And if you guyz in denmark manage to PROVE that the imams lied and reproduced these pictures, believe me the islamic anger will turn against them.

The imams have claimed they have received these images in mail - and for months they have promised to produce the original letters. A promise they haven't kept yet. So far the press has not been allowed to see the letters, nor to meet those people who allegedly has received them.

But does it matter whether the imams found the image on the Internet or received it in mail?

The point is that they took three pictures, which had never appeared in any Danish paper and pushed them into the faces of 1,3 billion Muslims to anger them. Who is worse a man who makes a cartoon of a dog raping a praying Muslim? Or the imam who makes sure that the cartoon insults as many Muslims as possible?

Jyllands-Posten has reproduced and distributed 12 innocuous cartoons to 175,000 kuffars. The imams have reproduced and distributed 3 really disgusting and blasphemous images to 1,300,000,000 believers.

Can you read Arabic? Akkari claims that it was made clear that the 3 images were not from Jyllands-Posten

JyllandsPosten has an report by an associate professor Helle Lykke Nielsen, Center for Middle East studies, South-Danish University, who has read the Akkari dossier and concludes that there's no way to guess from the material that the three fake drawings have not been published in Danish papers.

Can you read the Akkari file differently?

And even if one Dane had mailed it to Akkari, why should an entire country be punished for it?

The imams haven't even tried to defend themselves. They just state they are innocent without explaining anything. Egypt newspapers were full of false information after the visit. According to Akkari that's purely coincidence. The editor claims he got his information form the delegation. According to Akkari the editor is lying. People are shocked over the pig picture (video) - but according to Akkari, it's not his fault if people think the pig picture is from Jyllands-Posten. Abu Bashar has shown the pig picture on BBC where the announcer claimed it was from Jyllands-Posten (I'm still waiting for the imams to explain that one).

Raed Hlayhel has stated to The Saudi Gazette, "Every day pictures and articles are printed, which are even more serious and dangerous than those that were printed in September". Good. Show one then. Just one!

Bottom line of the cartoon issue: We should respect other people's religion. The cartoon may be within the ambit of press freedom or free expression but once it infringes or offends the sensitivity of others responsible people should refrain publishing it. On the other hand, the Muslims shoul stop acting like a spoiled brat. They should put a stop to a reaction that espouses violence. I think they can formally lodge a complaint against the country that published the offending cartoons. They can vehemently state in their complaint what they feel and they could also enjoin other non-Muslim countries to join them in their complaint. Violence begets violence.

I deleted your post. I you must issue death threats, then get your own blog.

-quote "Are you telling me that Al Ahram asked for permission from 10,000,000 Jews before they published this cartoon of cannibalistic Jews drinking blood from babies? Al Ahram, 21 April 2001"

Ateist, I personally saw the link to this cartoon and as rude as it may seem, it DID NOT make fun of the jewish religion. Yes as offensive it may seem it did not attack the jewish people's beliefs or their prophets! So please don't compare the prophet's cartoons to these.

- quote "Who is worse a man who makes a cartoon of a dog raping a praying Muslim? Or the imam who makes sure that the cartoon insults as many Muslims as possible?"

Both are to blame. But you shouldn't give people like him the chance to shove it in the muslim world's face. I mean, if they weren't printed in the first place then you wouldn't be in the position you are in now. I AM NOT DEFENDING THE IMAM'S ACTIONS. I'm just saying that they could've been prevented and the blaime is on BOTH sides. (the imams and the post).

Thanks again!

> Ateist Who is worse a man who makes a cartoon of a dog raping a praying Muslim? Or the imam who makes sure that the cartoon insults as many Muslims as possible?

> =) Both are to blame. But you shouldn't give people like him the chance to shove it in the muslim world's face. I mean, if they weren't printed in the first place then you wouldn't be in the position you are in now.

But the dog (and the pig and the demon) were never printed in any newspaper.

Whether the imams found the three images on the Net, or whether they made them themselves - the imams are the only ones to blame.

What the hall is goin on with you ppl. The cartoons are all blown up and can also be seen as in a different perspective than what the media boasts about. The caricature for example with mohammed with a bomb on his head. It has nothing to do with regular day muslims, but, about how some people see it in the western world. And the muslims demonstrated that with the response they made to the cartoons. The leader provokes the population into a violent protest which really dont matter. Everybody makes fun of eachothers leaders, religions, and whatnot. Do you see anybosy else burning embassys, blowing stuff up?
And the one with the virgins which I thought was hillarious. It is actually critisising those who turned Mohammed into to a pedophilic pimp. Like, cmon why cant these people just smoke a big joint, kick up their feet and have a good lagh. I bet you there would be a a lot less violence in the world if the whole world legalized marihuana.

Does anybody ever stop to think anymore? The issue isn't whether or not to limit freedom of speech. The issue is conflicting religion, plain and simple. For the Muslims, religion entails a profound respect for Muhammed, extending to an outrage at any perceived attack on his character. For the Press, religion is in fact freedom of speech. Just because they don't happen to have a definable god in their beliefs doesn't make it any less of a religion. Those who published these twelve images truly believed that they had the right to do so, at least as much as those Muslims who are upset believe they have the right to be angry.

Get over yourselves. Even when you believe you are absolutely right on an issue, there is someone out there who believes they are at least as correct defending the opposite side.

The correct answer won't be given in this life -- even if you're absolutely certain you're right, someone else is also absolutely certain you're wrong.

When are you going to understand that every terrorist attack and every burned embassy destroys your prophet's credibility far more than any cartoon published in a small Jutlandic newspaper?

great blog. too bad some ppl cant control themselves and spout idiotic BS instead of actually saying something.

i'd say: forget all about it...., the arguing can and will continue forever, agreement is not obtainable as long as it regards religion. Period.

so what if a danish flag is burned, in my eyes its just a piece of cloth painted by a hysterical muslim. it doesn't symbol my flag "dannebrog" and it doesn't offend me.

tension build up through many ears is beeing released, it doesn't make any difference now what started the outroar.

the only lesson i hope the muslims will learn from all of this, is that islamic rules does not apply to every individual on this planet!!!!! and perhaps face the fact, that what continues to keep most of the arab world from following the global social development is a too close commitment to their religion.

as this is written the reputation of islamic culture and societies is descending faster than ever into darkness. you guys are harming yourselves tremendously with your stubbornness regarding cartoons made by what you call infidels

warning: when the technology to replace fossil fuel is ready (in this century most likely), the arab world will have next to no influence on the world, and you might want to be friends with the rest of the world when it happens.... just a suggestion

And when the hell are you going to learn that posting links filled with lies about islam is going to ruin things more!! Don't you get it, that last thing we need is for you to fill people's head's with lies about Islam. The link is made by uneducated prejudice people and is FILLED with nothing but lies and misconceptions. If you really wanna know about islam please follow the links before this one.

Son, do you pray to God with that dirty mouth?

You have quite a nerve! You have posted three times as many links on my blog as I have - and still you're the one who gets nasty.

Just for that I will post a link more: Taqiyya and kitman: The role of Deception in Islamic terrorism.

Enjoy :-)

>>>>"Son, do you pray to God with that dirty mouth?"

Actually, I haven't said anything dirty, unless u consider the word "hell" dirty. And thanx for the other link you posted, it actually shows the truth... that DECEPTION is what leads to terrorisim, which means that terrorists are fed lies that islam calls for terrorisim when it actually calls for anything but. And for the record I didn't post the links above... i just saw them. And I'm a FEMALE not a male.
thanks

> And I'm a FEMALE not a male.

Oops - sorry about that. My mistake. :-)

> DECEPTION is what leads to terrorisim, which means that terrorists are fed lies that islam calls for terrorisim when it actually calls for anything but.

So what is the "true" Islam? It would be so much easier if all 1,3 billion Muslims would voice their opinions against terrorism every time a terrorist act happens.

What about demonstrators who walk around in London with signs saying "Europe you will pay, your 9/11 is on the way", "7/7 is on its way", "Butcher those who mock Islam" and so on.

Do know what the Danish imam Abu Laban said when asked about 9/11? He said that he had cried so many tears for the dead in Palestine that he didn't have any tears let for the Americans. Somehow the cold bastard has found many tears to shed for Arla and Danish Industry.

>>>"So what is the "true" Islam? It would be so much easier if all 1,3 billion Muslims would voice their opinions against terrorism every time a terrorist act happens."

Who said otherwise...!? Most muslims are AGAINST terrorisim! what you saw must be, what, like 100 thousand protests out of 1.3 billions?! but you don't know that because the media is biased and shows you only the other side! Many, actually billions condem terrorisim, We show it, its just that your MEDIA DOESN'T SHOW YOU. you can't blame us for that. Anyways =), never mind, i'm telling you here, speaking on behalf of MOST MUSLIMS, we are against ALL KIND OF TERRORISIM, we DIDN'T CHEER AT THE 9/11 EVENTS! please see we are on the same side!

thanks

im a muslim and i think that all responsible of the cartoon should burn in hell!

Does that include the lying imams who made the fake Mohammed cartoons and showed them on BBC and al-Jazeera?

this is the most racist thing I have ever seen. From both sides.
I am a Danish resident (from the UK) and have just come back from Pakistan where I had an amazing time until this happend.
1)Muslims cannot draw pictures of their religious icons, so the newspaper messed up by asking the question "draw an image of Muhammad". This is against their beliefs.
2)Freedom of speech? fair enough, its right to be able to say what you want. But the closest thing (we) have to Muhammad is our own personal father. Would you like it if I said "your father has aids and rapes young boys and girls" and spread it around the world?. 3)Muhammad was not a terrorist!. Maybe some muslims are, but hey, so is Bush (and thats worse as he runs the bloody US).
So, fair play to the muslims for the protests, but now things have got too far.
I hate to think what will happen in the world as it seems that there are so many racist people out their as yourselves.
What a terrible world we live in.
WELL DONE

> Becci Copp: "Would you like it if I said "your father has aids and rapes young boys and girls"

How does that question in any way pertain to the 12 cartoons published in Jyllands-Posten? None of them say anything about aids or rape.

Maybe you are confusing them with the fake Mohammed cartoons made by the imams?

> Becci Copp: "and spread it around the world?

You're quite right. These cartoons were printed in a Jutlandish newspaper. They were never meant to be spread all over the world.

The Danish imams were criminally irresponsible when they "internationalized the issue".

> Becci Copp: "Muhammad was not a terrorist!.

Nevertheless, countless atrocities are done in his name.

If all 1,3 billion Muslims had been 1% as enraged over the terrorist attacks in New York, Istanbul, London, Madrid, Bali etc. etc. as they are over 12 silly cartoons, then these cartoons would never have been made.

In response to ateist about my previous comments, You did not read my post properly. The sentance about "your father...." was to demonstrate that "we" do not have any icon as big as Muhammad for the Muslims. We do not worship Jesus or even god in the same way... thats all I was saying. So the cartoonist can be excused for not knowing what he was drawing.
I have one more thing to add, that the sad thing is, that the muslims are now living up to the cartoon.

> Becci Copp "You did not read my post properly. The sentance about "your father...." was to demonstrate that "we" do not have any icon as big as Muhammad for the Muslims. We do not worship Jesus or even god in the same way... thats all I was saying."

I read your post. But the two drawings on this page are quite harmless. One combines Jesus with Mohammed - and the halo with the crescent moon. The other combines Mohammed with a crescent moon and star.

I can't see how these innocent drawings in any way compares to saying "your father has aids and rapes young boys and girls".

BTW, I just read this: Bonfire of the Pieties

Not only does the author give lots of examples of Muslims making images of Mohammed - he also has lots of examples of Islamic writers (like Rumi) maing fun of God.

It turns out the prohibition of making fun with God and prophets is invented by the Muslim Brotherhood and is political Islam - like Hamas.

Quote: "Now to the second claim, that the Muslim world is not used to laughing at religion. That is true if we restrict the Muslim world to the Brotherhood and its siblings in the Salafist movement, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and al Qaeda. But these are all political organizations masquerading as religious ones."

"We need the whole world to see we are not as the media paints us to be. (The burning of the embassies and killing happened in only 2 countries, what about the rest of us?? you can't judge based on these 2 only.)"

Then why don't you direct your anger and protests to those that are giving your religion a bad name. Your problem is that nothing is being done by the many peace-loving Islams to counteract the negative image set by religious fanatics.

From start of islam many of unfaithfull persons and cristians (not all of them) shows their hates against us without any adult discuss just insulting (becouse they can't do any thing else that plus killing the innocents) and refuse that islam is the greatest GOD religoun that full of mercy for all the humans. and Mohammed learned us how to be a gentle persons and with all the world give merci to deserve the paradise and ALLAH (GOD) merci. even those terrorist not from us they were us secret agents in russia, if they're not "supported" the could be arrest from along time!!!

Denmark needs to get fucked like USA got his twin towers. Denmark is not that strong to retaliate. Anything which insults the sentiment of religion is to be avoided. will u like to see a cartoon in which ur jesus is getting from backside from osama bin laden. well, friends, creativity or freedom of speech can be demostrated by muslims also. it is just that they don't want to hurt the sentiments of other religion.

You are a muslims, Aren't you? Yes, I can tell...
And believe me if you do that with Jesus, they will not care much about it!!!

@ Lara Al-Nimer

I understand why you aren't scared of appearing non-anonymous.
It's much more dangerous to be free in speech for those who might offend the muslims than for you.
Everybody knows that!!

fuck you lot us have a right to do wot we wont so burn in hell danish muther fuckers

*big laugh*
... so this is the conversation ... well done masters ... all of you are great writers, deep believers and gnostic specialists ... everything written in this blog is so funny to read, that i threw my books away ... all of them ... because i dont need them anymore ... i dont need to read, because either i am a muslim or i am not ...

to be honest... i prefer to believe in the power of the free will, and not in kid's dreams like religion or freedom of speech ...

have you ever noticed, that the islam tells men not to have more than 4 (four!) wifes in a lifetime, but master mohammad himself left 9 (nine!) widows? *laugh*

... believing in what he said is just as believig in what hitler or stalin said, just jealus.

I noticed that the discussion above is no more than a "fight" between different ideologies.
Normally this is the case on all blogs i visited.
This new wave of interaction between people is really helpful in some cases and on the other hand is very bad in some other cases, like our case here!!
"Everyone is free to believe in what he likes and everyone has to respect what others believe in."
I know you heared this sentence from many muslims but in order to know the real meaning behind this, imagine the following:
A guy who simply believes in his professional skills, in his wife, in his kids, in life in general, away from any religious believes.
That guy trusts his wife so much and loves her so much.
One day, a journalist (no matter the size of the newspaper)critisized his wife and considered her a bitch!!
The most funny thing is that the journalist never met his wife nor talked to her!!!
What do you expect from our friend?
I'll leave the answer to your free mind to decide what to do against this....if you were him.
But take care if you'll accept this, this gives me the right to insult your entire families freely and you'll have to accept this!!!

fuck all religion it is the cause of all conflict in the world. we as humans should all be able to live in peace with each other. for those who cannot live without the religious bigotry to all other faiths stop and think of your contribution to the world and society we live in. do you all think you are unbiased, wrong because according to the teachings of all your different religious sects each individual one is the ONLY one. wrong you fucking hypocrites. i am not against religion but i am against the hypocrasyit constantly spouts.

there have been 18 deaths in niger fot these cute cartoons. iran denies the holocaust, which ofcourse is something worse. how many death has europe seen since this statement? 0? yeah that's right? I assume that this would've caused mass casualties if we denied something comparable in the arabic world. oops maybe this post will cause 25 deaths in iran now.
maybe i'll reach even the news :D

i think that "fionn mccumhail" should not be talking about are religon like that . we are muslim and proud and what the hell are you sayin prophet Muhamed peace be upon him is frying in hell , the only person thats gonna fry in hell is "YOU". I may not be a perfect muslim girl but ,I follow my religon and dont like when people talk about my religon like that. Peace ... until next tyme

Very sad to see the hate from many comments on both "sides". Therefore, In the words of Buddha:
"The fool regards an evil act to be sweet as nectar as long as it does not bear fruit. But when it is ripe, the taste will be truely bitter".

anonymous guy: "Freedom never means breaching the rights of others. Planting hatred and enmity with Islam and Muslims is far from sound thinking and behaving on the part of any government that claims to uphold justice."

While I agree with your second statement that it was inevitable that many Muslims would be offended by the Mohammed cartoons and that it was stupid, I want to ask you what you mean by your first sentence.

While, yes, freedom doesn't mean stepping on others' rights, is it a right to not be angered? I don't think so. I think everyone as a kid was teased or angered by a schoolmate or by a sibling, and I never thought I had the right to go through life free of ridicule. If Denmark thought these cartoons would improve relations with Muslims, then it must have an extremely stupid government, but I don't think this is true. In the US at least, the government doesn't have absolute control over what newspapers print, and I'm guessing it's the same way in Denmark.

Muslims, Christians, Jews, Wiccans, Hindus, etc. are all criticized by someone or another. There's no way to get around those who don't have respect for or interest in other cultures or religions. While I think that Muslims overreacted, I am not advocating apathy. Boycott that Danish newspaper, send in letters, protest, but know that there is NO WAY that any religion in the world is going to exist without those who sneer at it.

Wow, I definitely agree with that one anonymous female, "[...] when the hell are you going to learn that posting links filled with lies about islam is going to ruin things more!! Don't you get it, that last thing we need is for you to fill people's head's with lies about Islam. "

Ateist, if you seriously believe in the crap they have on "Prophet of Doom: Islam's Terrorist Dogma In Muhammad's Own Words", then I think you need to read the Quran for yourself. While I don't agree with some of the stuff, other parts of it are really good and it is essentially a peaceful religion. Considering that the Middle East was full of gang-rapes, slavery, and tons of other unsavory acts BEFORE Mohammed came onto the scene, I think that he helped turn things around. I still think that, in some places, there's more that can be done about women's rights, but to say that "Islam is a caustic blend of paganism and twisted Bible stories. Muhammad, its lone prophet, conceived his religion to satiate his lust for power, sex, and money" just doesn't make any sense. Before Islam, Mohammed could have had as many women as he wanted without any criticism; he wouldn't have even had to marry them! Seriously, check out the history of the Saudi Arabia area; it's sure to be enlightening.

Hi. I am an American and I think all law abiding white people should send you trouble makers back to your own country. They allow you people (who howl like dogs in the desert) to live among civilized people and all you want to do is kill because of cartoons that depict funny things about your religion. Get over it. If mohammed was alive today, he would probably be chasing a 9 year old through the back street of Denmark just doing his thing. So listen all you radical takfir stick waxxers, just lighten up and learn how to laugh. From Malcolm in New Hampshire in the good old USA.

1 question to ask......
Which god teach us to kill?

I have read through these comments with a mixture of amusment and disgust. I fully support the artists and the newspaper. I find it ironic that a religion of peace would create the mindset that responds to drawings with death threats and bombings.

I freely admit my ignorance of islam and am quite content with it. I grew up in a place where my actions where judged based on religious beliefs that I did not share. As such I find anyone who tries to force their beleifs on me to be at fault. Further, I find ALL religion to be superstitious nonsense and would appreciate it if people didn't try to sell me on it.

More people have died as a result of the "my god is better than your god" mindset than any other cause. I find religion to be a major source of division and bigotry in the world. Can anyone in light of the current events disagree?

People of islam: How about some death threats for those who kill inocents in the name of Allah? You may find that non-muslims show you a bit more respect.

People of the west: Lets find some alternative to oil and get rid of political leaders who are willing to lie to us in order to get our support for their pofit margins. Maybe then muslims will show us a bit more respect.

PEACE OUT MY NIGGAS BLOOD$ 4 LIFE

So the Islamic God is not powerful enough that he needs his little army of terrorists to kill people in his name? Shame on him and them! If God is all powerful then he should smite people on his own. If he needs people to do his smiting for him, then he is not all powerful.

Prophet Mohammed is belief for all muslims and in name of freedom of press you have no right to offencce the belif moslems have in the prophet. Your target is hardcore terrorist which shouldn't be called muslims and themselves be ashamed of there deed as muslims So relgion should be kept apart from politics and the world should follow the path of non-voilence shown by Mahatma Gandhi

God does not exist. You think, you go to heaven, but it is a lie.

Your life is all you will ever see. Your only chance. You need to do something good with your only life. Don't waste it on war, hatred and service for an imaginary god, because when you die, you will cease to exist forever.

Well what else can you expect from a religion based on a Phedophil guy - promising small 10-11 year old gilrs...sigh sigh....to anyone who blows themself up....or DARE to shoot inncocent people in a library .....I have so much respect for such heroic supermen.
Well I would respect them more if they would pay for the dameges to the embassies and buidling they ar e burning down....probably they are all hired by local handymen to keep jobs running.
Well I am thinking of starting a small webpage ....burnadanishflag.com....for 5 euro you do not even have to go to the street anymore.
Would be good business every friday ........!!!
Moslems please try to get the word...HUMOR!!!
I better stay without my real name so lets call me Mr. B
